Pennington Reservoir

Brief description of fishery:

Pennington is a spectacular and picturesque reservoir of 18 acre water with stunning views. Frequently visited by ospreys, in gorgeous surroundings means it is a popular venue for anglers and birdwatchers.  Pennington can be tricky to catch at times, but once you find the fish its great sport!

An abundance of patterns work on this water from dry flies to fast stripped lures below the surface.

A vast water with a variety of depths and features, opens up opportunities to employ different fly methods at various times of the year.

Pennington lends itself to a small number of  bays where the angler can stalk the trout from the bank, and can camouflage into the surroundings.

Spinning is allowed on here but single hook only!

There is a private car park and you must sign in the book here even if you are fishing off the dam.  If you don’t catch fish just enjoy the scenery and the ospreys.
